Cool to Cold Weather Forecasted for North and Northeast, Scattered Rain in the South

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department reports that the North and Northeast regions of Thailand will experience cool to cold weather, while the Central and Eastern regions will have cool mornings. The South is expected to have scattered rain.

According to Thai News Agency, a moderate high-pressure system or cold air mass from China is affecting upper Thailand, contributing to the cooler temperatures in the North and Northeast. Residents are advised to take care of their health due to these conditions. Meanwhile, the Central and Eastern regions will also see cool morning temperatures.

The southern region will experience scattered rain due to a moderate northeast monsoon covering the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea. Mariners are advised to exercise caution as wave conditions in the lower Gulf of Thailand are moderate, with wave heights around 2 meters, and 1-2 meters in the upper Gulf and offshore in the Andaman Sea.

Currently, the accumulation of particulate matter/haze in upper Thailand is at a moderate level due to improved ventilation conditions.

The regional weather forecast for February 3, 2026, indicates partly cloudy skies in Bangkok and surrounding areas, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius and northeasterly winds at 10-20 km/hr. Northern Thailand will see cool to cold weather with morning fog, and temperatures ranging from 15 to 34 degrees Celsius, while mountain peaks may experience frost.

In Northeastern Thailand, temperatures will range from 13 to 33 degrees Celsius, with cooler conditions expected on mountaintops. Central Thailand will have cool mornings with temperatures between 19 and 34 degrees Celsius.

The Eastern Region will also experience cool mornings with temperatures between 18 and 34 degrees Celsius, and sea waves approximately 1 meter high. Southern Thailand's east coast will have cool mornings and scattered rain, particularly in the lower areas, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 33 degrees Celsius. Mariners in this region are advised of sea waves reaching up to 2 meters high.
