Chiang mai: The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has launched an urgent investigation into a teacher finance scandal, stressing the importance of swift and just resolution.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichet Phophakdee, Secretary-General of OBEC, disclosed that after reports emerged on social media about a teacher's death at a school in Chiang Mai province, OBEC assigned Mr. Trin Kandokmai, Director of the Center for Happiness and Safety Management, along with legal officers and a working team, to conduct a thorough investigation on-site.
The Chiang Mai Secondary Educational Service Area Office (Chiang Mai SEAO), which supervises the school in question, has set up a fact-finding committee. This committee is tasked with collecting all relevant information from the involved parties to ascertain the true cause of the incident. The findings will be promptly reported to OBEC for further measures.
OBEC has expressed condolences to the teacher's family and assured that proceedings will be fair, transparent, and comprehensive. The organization emphasizes its commitment to the welfare of teachers and educational staff, continually working to reduce their workload and enhance morale. Once the investigation is complete, OBEC will follow due process to address the situation.
