Nonthaburi: The cremation ceremony for Mr. Nattawut Ponglangka, known as “Natpong,” took place at Wat Kluai in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province. Relatives, friends, and fellow journalists gathered to pay their last respects to the 35-year-old journalist, filling the atmosphere with sorrow and grief as they bid him farewell.
According to Thai News Agency, many of Natpong’s media colleagues attended the ceremony, describing him as a dedicated journalist who was well-liked by those who worked with him. In memory of Natpong, his family has organized a ceremony to collect his ashes and continue with religious rites.
Police investigations concluded that Natpong died from cyanide poisoning. Pol. Lt. Gen. Wattana Yijin, Commander of Provincial Police Region 1, stated that both witness testimonies and evidence pointed to suicide, as there was no indication of tampering with the cyanide packets found in the room. The victim’s family has accepted the police’s conclusion.
