Delivery Rider Disguised Robber Escapes with Gold Heist

Mueang samut sakhon: The commander of Provincial Police Region 7 has ordered the formation of a team to hunt down a robber disguised as a delivery rider who wielded a gun and stole 23 baht worth of gold.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred in a shopping mall in the Ekachai area of Mueang Samut Sakhon district, where the robber managed to steal gold jewelry valued at over 1.6 million baht from a gold shop.

CCTV footage captured the suspect, approximately 170 centimeters tall and wearing a rider's vest and a balaclava, as he approached the gold shop. He pulled out an automatic handgun, causing panic among the employees, and swiftly jumped over the glass display case to seize the gold jewelry inside. Despite the employees' attempt to escape through a small door under the counter, they ultimately decided to remain hidden.

The robber, after collecting the gold, fled the scene by running down the escalator to the first floor and escaping on a motorcycle. The jewelry shop later confirmed that the stolen ornaments weighed approximately 23 baht, valued at over 1.6 million baht.

In response to the robbery, police from Khok Kham Police Station began examining the evidence. Pol. Lt. Gen. Pisit Tanprasert, Commander of Provincial Police Region 7, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Athiphakkul, Commander of Samut Sakhon Provincial Police, were present to oversee the forensic collection of evidence. They ordered the formation of an investigative team comprising officers from Khok Kham Police Station, Samut Sakhon Provincial Police, and Provincial Police Region 7. The team is coordinating with nearby areas to quickly apprehend the suspect.
