Bangkok: The Democrat Party (DP) recently organized a forum aimed at addressing real-world problems faced by constituents, facilitating a discussion on the future direction of Thailand. The event, which took place at Silom Park, was led by Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, and included key figures such as Dr. Kardee Leowpairoj, deputy leader, and Mr. Sakoltee Phatthiyakul, deputy leader overseeing Bangkok.
According to Thai News Agency, the gathering featured a relaxed, picnic-like atmosphere where Bangkok parliamentary candidates from various zones, including Thonburi, Saphan Sung, and Sai Mai, shared their experiences and challenges faced during their campaigns. Dr. Palm, a candidate for Bangkok's District 32, highlighted the warm reception he received from traditional Democrat strongholds and emphasized the need to support riverside communities like the Kudi Chin community by launching cultural projects to sustain local tourism.
Other candidates reported issues such as inadequate infrastructure in older communities, calling for legislative amendments to allow government agencies to maintain private roads. Mr. Abhisit's arrival at the event was met with enthusiasm, as he joined candidates in discussing policies and the importance of grassroots engagement.
Mr. Peerawut Pimsomrudee, candidate for Bangkok Constituency 1, shared stories from his campaign, emphasizing the economic challenges faced by street vendors and the importance of creating sustainable systems for small retailers. He also underscored the need to support vulnerable groups in public health, education, and economic opportunities, urging Bangkok residents to support the Democrat Party for a sustainable future.
