Ron phibun district: "Chai???" is confident that the Democrat Party will win the most parliamentary seats in the South. Mr. Chaichana Dechdecho, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party and supervisor of the Southern region, has expressed confidence in the party's prospects in the upcoming elections. He has been actively campaigning alongside Ms. Kanokporn Dechdecho, a candidate for Member of Parliament in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Constituency 4. Ms. Kanokporn emphasized her commitment to the region, highlighting her work on women's issues and her experience as a former Provincial Administrative Organization President.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaichana attributes the Democrat Party's growing popularity in the South to the return of Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva as party leader. He noted that previous elections saw a division of seats among various parties, but recent rallies in provinces like Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Phatthalung, and Trang have shown strong public support. Mr. Chaichana believes that the current election will test the party's commitment to honest politics over corruption, with expectations of winning more than 25 seats in the region.
Despite the competitive political landscape, Mr. Chaichana believes that the majority of voters have already made up their minds. He stated that approximately 95% of voters are decided, leaving only a small fraction still undecided. He expressed confidence in the Democrat Party's ability to lead the government and highlighted the party's achievements during its limited time in government over the past 30 years. Mr. Chaichana dismissed the impact of financial influences on voter decisions, asserting that the people's choice is clear.
Addressing comments by Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn of the Bhumjaithai Party regarding the decrease in Democrat Party MPs, Mr. Chaichana noted that while the number of seats has decreased, the Democrat Party has historically secured more seats than the Bhumjaithai Party. He stressed the importance of accepting electoral outcomes and remained optimistic about the party's support in the South. With over 7 million eligible voters, Mr. Chaichana urged voters to carefully consider their choices, emphasizing the direct democratic power they hold in shaping the country's future.
