Department of Cooperative Promotion Mobilizes Flood Relief Efforts

Bangkok:The Department of Cooperative Promotion is actively mobilizing resources to support victims affected by severe flooding in Bangkok and its surrounding areas. This includes the establishment of monitoring centers and mobile kitchens, which are providing essential supplies such as food and drinking water.

According to Thai News Agency, the department is coordinating with cooperative networks across the nation to ensure effective distribution of aid. The Kaset Wisai Agricultural Cooperative has contributed significantly by donating six tons of rice to support those impacted by the floods.

Director-General Nirun Multhida highlighted that continuous heavy rainfall has caused flooding in many areas, affecting both cooperative members and farmer groups. Under the direction of Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Jungrungruangkit, measures are being prepared to aid the public, including setting up mobile kitchens and preparing relief packages.

Efforts are centered around three main measures establishing a monitoring and assistance center for affected cooperative members and farmer groups; deploying emergency kitchens to provide meals and drinking water; and strengthening the cooperative network nationwide to extend further assistance.

In addition, the department has opened a donation channel under the "Generosity for Flood Victims" campaign to gather financial support for those impacted. Contributions can be made to the Natural Disaster Relief Fund at Krung Thai Bank, Thewet Branch.

The Department of Cooperative Promotion assures affected citizens of its continued support and is committed to standing by them until the situation normalizes, expressing gratitude towards all cooperative networks and sectors contributing to the relief efforts.
