Department of Corrections Denies Release of Convicted Murderer

Bangkok: The Department of Corrections has firmly denied reports suggesting the early release of "Ai Game," a prisoner convicted for the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl. The convict, who remains incarcerated, still has 30 years, 11 months, and 22 days remaining on his sentence.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Corrections addressed rumors circulating on social media that claimed the prisoner, initially sentenced to death, had received multiple royal pardons and had served only 12 years in prison. The department clarified that these claims are false and could mislead the public.

The inmate, currently held in Bang Kwang Central Prison, has served 11 years, 10 months, and 22 days of his sentence since his incarceration on July 8, 2014. His release is expected on May 13, 2060, with no reductions to his sentence as previously alleged. The department emphasized the ongoing implementation of the highest security measures to monitor the inmate closely.
