Bangkok: The Department of Religious Affairs has extended an invitation to Buddhists to participate in a series of activities commemorating Makha Bucha Day. The department organized Buddhist chanting ceremonies, alms giving, and candlelit processions, aiming to preserve the significance of this important Buddhist holiday. A campaign was also launched to "mark 10 temples for the procession of wrapping stupas with cloth on Makha Bucha Day."

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Culture, through the Department of Religious Affairs, spearheaded the organization of these ceremonies. The event was presided over by Phra Sri Sutthiwethi, Assistant Abbot of Wat Arun, who led the religious ceremony, while Mr. Chaiyaphon Suk-iam, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs, oversaw the lay ceremony. Executives from the Ministry of Culture and representatives from various agencies and organizations participated in the ceremony, held at Wat Arun Ratchawararam.

The ceremonies included a procession and the draping of cloth over the main pagoda at Wat Arun Ratchawararam. Additionally, a Walk Rally was organized, allowing participants to visit five important sacred sites within the temple. The public was encouraged to wear traditional Thai clothing or Thai silk as they took part in the activities.
