Surin: The Deputy Minister of Interior has mandated the Provincial Electricity Authority to hasten the extension of electricity coverage to the "Prasat Ta Kwai - Hill 350" area to bolster border security.

According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Polpeera Suwannachawi, visited the Surin border area to oversee and gather information regarding the expansion of electricity access to the Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350. This initiative aims to improve the living conditions and morale of frontline personnel while reinforcing national security at the border. Accompanying him were Mr. Praphas Srichanwiang, Deputy Governor of Surin Province, along with other government officials, representatives from the Suranaree Task Force, and members of the Surin Provincial Volunteer Defense Corps.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister and his team paid homage at the Monument to the Defenders of Thailand, honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. They also distributed supplies to military personnel to uplift their spirits as they continue to protect the nation's sovereignty. The delegation gathered insights about the area surrounding Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350.

The Provincial Electricity Authority, Region 3, has outlined a project to expand electricity access to the Ta Kwai Temple area and Hill 350, which includes nine areas with a budget surpassing 130 million baht. The plan also involves extending electricity over 12.5 kilometers and integrating solar power along the transportation route from the Lan Yang intersection to Ta Kwai Temple, covering approximately 8.7 kilometers.

Furthermore, General Polpeer Suwannachawi has instructed the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Region 3 to expedite the electricity expansion project as planned. The project is set to commence in 2026 and aims for completion by early 2027, enhancing the safety and operational efficiency of frontline personnel safeguarding Thai territory.
