Bang lamung: The family held a memorial service for the two Russian siblings. The mother of two Russian siblings tearfully bid farewell to her children for the last time at a memorial service held at the site where their bodies were found, before police launched a GPR operation to scan for clues in the underground investigation into the five-death case.
According to Thai News Agency, family members, Thais, and many foreigners attended the final farewell ceremony for Diana and Roman, the two Russian siblings who were murdered and buried by Pong and his accomplices. The ceremony was held at the site where the bodies of the two siblings were found, in the Chak Ngaew forest, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The mother, Sharina Nasimova, was present to offer merit to her two children, as well as to the three other Thai family members who died in the same case. Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong, Chonburi Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Pongphan Wongmanithet, and other government officials from the province also attended.
The atmosphere at the ceremony was filled with sadness. Attendees brought white flowers, including carnations, lilies, and roses, to place at the spot where the body was found to express their grief. The family also placed Diana's favorite coffee cup as a symbol of remembrance, adding to the poignant moment for those present. Throughout the ceremony, the mother of the two sisters could not hold back her tears, amidst comfort from relatives, friends, and attendees.
Ms. Charina expressed her gratitude to the Thai people, government agencies, police, and all volunteers for their assistance and care for her family throughout this difficult time. She stated that she was deeply touched by the kindness of the Thai people, which helped her family overcome this great loss.
Regarding the progress of the case, Provincial Police Region 2 is preparing to use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to inspect the crime scene. Professors from the Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, have coordinated with a private company to request support in terms of equipment and expert personnel to assist in searching for additional suspicious objects at the scene of the five-body murder case. A planning meeting was held at Huai Yai Police Station, and the operation will begin after the final memorial service for the two Russian siblings.
