Dr. Jetsada Raises Concerns Over Thailand’s Potential Involvement in Trump’s “World Peace Committee”

Phuket: Dr. Jetsada Tonawanik, the Rak Chart Party's prime ministerial candidate, has voiced concerns regarding Thailand's potential involvement in the "World Peace Committee" proposed by US President Donald Trump. During a campaign visit to a morning market in Phuket, Dr. Jetsada questioned the necessity and benefits of the multi-billion baht investment required for Thailand to join this initiative alongside Cambodia.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Jetsada highlighted that many political parties are currently focused on populist policies to gain public favor, while neglecting pressing international issues. He pointed out Trump's invitation to over 60 countries, including Thailand, to join the "Board of Peace," which mandates a $1 billion contribution. Dr. Jetsada stressed the importance of thoroughly assessing this proposal and understanding the true intentions and potential consequences of participating in such an initiative.

Dr. Jetsada emphasized that this is an issue that all political entities, including those currently in power and those aspiring to lead in the future, must consider seriously. He warned that Thailand must navigate international tensions, particularly between global powers like the United States and China, both of whom have been invited to join the forum.

The Thai National Party's prime ministerial candidate further stated that Thailand must evaluate the differences between this forum and existing international platforms like the United Nations. He questioned whether joining the "World Peace Committee" would genuinely address longstanding issues such as the Thai-Cambodian conflict and whether it would bring about positive outcomes for Thailand.

Dr. Jetsada concluded by announcing that the Rak Chart Party has already formulated a strategy for Thailand's position in the evolving global landscape and will gradually release these proposals to the public.

Following his address, Dr. Jetsada, along with the Rak Chart Party team, donned traditional Baba Nyonya attire to explore Phuket Old Town, demonstrating their commitment to cultural preservation and tourism. This initiative aimed to connect with local residents and promote Phuket as a world-class tourist destination while maintaining its cultural heritage. The team received a warm reception from locals and tourists alike, who engaged with them and expressed support for their campaign.

This campaign strategy by the Rak Chart Party reflects a creative approach, focusing on cultural engagement and promoting local heritage as part of their election campaign.
