Bangkok: The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suchart Chomklim, has appointed Dr. Nattawut Wongniam, a renowned legal expert, to the advisory board of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. This strategic appointment aims to bolster the administration’s efforts in addressing environmental issues and supporting the ministry’s goals.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart signed Order No. 472/2025 to officially appoint Dr. Wongniam to the advisory board, effective November 7, 2025. Dr. Wongniam, known as a “Garuda-level” lawyer, brings over 30 years of experience in public law. His extensive legal expertise has been integral in high-profile national cases, and he is a familiar figure in media discussions on public legal matters.
Dr. Wongniam’s political experience is vast, having served as an advisor in various governmental roles, including positions related to the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Ministry of Transport. He has also been involved with the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the House of Representatives Education Committee. His political journey includes running for Member of Parliament, showcasing his deep engagement in national politics.
Academically, Dr. Wongniam has contributed as a special lecturer in law and political science across multiple educational levels since 2002. He has also played a role in the Election Commission’s decision-making processes regarding election disputes. His private sector experience includes leading roles in real estate and the processed rubberwood industry.
Dr. Wongniam’s educational background is extensive; he holds multiple doctoral degrees in law, political science, and international political economy from prestigious Thai universities. His master’s degrees span public law, business law, politics and governance, public administration, and business economics. He is also a graduate of the Thai Bar Association.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Wongniam has completed numerous senior executive training courses, enhancing his skills in public administration, public law, economics management, and urban leadership. His multifaceted expertise positions him as an asset in driving public policy within the parliamentary system, particularly concerning constitutional and administrative regulations.
