Drug-Addicted Man Arrested After Firing Gun in Khlong Tan Area.

Bangkok: Officers from Khlong Tan Police Station, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Bureau Division 5, have arrested a young man who was reportedly high on drugs and shooting a gun inside his residence in the Khlong Tan area. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported during the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Wachirakorn Wongboon, the Superintendent of Khlong Tan Police Station, led a team of officers from the station and the Special Operations Unit of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Division 5 to the scene. The raid was conducted at the Saeng Santi Community, located at Soi Phatthanakan 20, Intersection 8, in the Suan Luang Subdistrict/District of Bangkok. Upon arrival, the officers found Mr. Wanat, a 29-year-old man, inside the house. The house was surrounded, and negotiations took place before Mr. Wanat was apprehended.

During the inspection, authorities discovered a revolver along with 17 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, which were seized as evidence. Init
ial reports suggest that Mr. Wanat was hallucinating due to drug use and had fired two shots within the house. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the gunfire.

Mr. Wanat, during the inquiry, denied firing the gun, claiming it remained in its box with a valid registration. However, the police have expressed skepticism regarding his statement and plan to conduct a detailed investigation. Pending the outcome of their inquiries, they intend to press charges under the Firearms Act and proceed with legal actions against the suspect.
