Bangkok: Police join forces to raid a Chinese gambling den in Soi Saha Pramul, arresting 20 gamblers, finding them using an online money exchange application to gamble. On November 5, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police conducted a raid on a gambling den located in Soi Sahakon Pramul, Wang Thonglang Subdistrict, Wang Thonglang District, Bangkok. During the operation, 20 suspects were arrested, and various pieces of evidence were seized, including black chips, yellow chips, red chips, green chips, clear chips, decks of playing cards, and sheets displaying the chip exchange table.

According to Thai News Agency, the gamblers used an online money exchange application as part of their gambling activities. Following the raid, all suspects were taken to Wang Thonglang Police Station for further questioning. Pol. Col. Jessada Yangnok, Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station, stated that the operation was conducted in collaboration with the Children and Women Protection Division, the investigation team
of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and the Wang Thonglang Police Station.

Initial investigations revealed that the gambling activities were organized through social media platforms, facilitating gatherings in the form of a mobile casino. The location, previously a Chinese restaurant closed during COVID-19, was repurposed for gambling activities despite retaining its restaurant signage. All suspects confessed to the charges, which include jointly gambling (poker), gambling for property without permission, and organizing illegal gambling activities.
