Trang: A drug trafficking gang brutally attacked a debtor's home in the Huai Yot area of Trang province, firing 21 shots and damaging three houses. Neighbors were injured in the assault, and their houses and cars were destroyed.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at approximately 1:20 AM when unknown assailants used an HK assault rifle to fire upon the homes. The first house targeted belonged to Mr. Supat, 52, while the second house belonged to Mr. Chaem, 75, Mr. Supat's father. The third house attacked was that of a neighbor. In addition to the damage inflicted on the houses, a car was also hit.

Mr. Chaem disclosed that the perpetrators were likely a drug trafficking gang, as his son, Mr. Supat, was involved in drug dealing and probably owed money, prompting the violent debt collection attempt. Mr. Supat had recently completed a nine-year prison sentence for a drug-related offense. Despite efforts to help him reform, Mr. Supat continued engaging in illegal activities. Mr. Chaem urged the police to apprehend the assailants and his son for his ongoing involvement with drugs.

Neighbors revealed they heard gunshots late at night and were shocked to find their property damaged. Bullet holes were discovered in their house and a white Honda sedan, with several shots hitting the vehicle. The residents called on the police to swiftly bring the culprits to justice and address the destruction caused.

Forensic police from Trang province examined the crime scene and found two bullet heads and 19 spent shell casings. These were collected for further investigation, including ballistic analysis. CCTV footage showed motorcycles circling the area before the attack, and police suspect the use of military-grade weapons or HK rifles. Efforts are underway to track down the offenders. Mr. Supat has been missing since the incident.
