Nong khai: Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, embarked on a significant campaign trail in Nong Khai province, aiming to bolster support for the party's parliamentary candidates.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin's campaign began with a visit to Wat Pho Chai, a royal temple in the province, where he paid respects to Luang Pho Phra Sai and worshipped Thao Wessuwan, seeking blessings for good fortune.
Mr. Anutin's visit to the temple was marked by a warm reception from the public, including an emotional encounter with an elderly man from Buriram province who expressed his admiration and longing to meet Mr. Anutin. Additionally, several lottery vendors with disabilities took the opportunity to capture the moment with photographs alongside the party leader.
During his temple visit, Mr. Anutin undertook the ritual of offering a garland to Luang Pho Phra Sai and received a blessing from the abbot in the form of holy water and a fortune-bestowing tap on the head. The revered Luang Pho Phra Sai, a sacred Lanna-style Buddha image, is esteemed for its miraculous powers, often invoked for prosperity, protection, and good fortune.
In his quest for blessings, Mr. Anutin also honored the relics of the Arahant and worshipped Thao Wessuwan, preserving the incantation on his mobile device, further underscoring his commitment to seeking spiritual support for his campaign endeavors.
Concluding his visit, Mr. Anutin made his way to Chaeng Sawang Market, where he engaged with local vendors by purchasing goods, including two pairs of shorts, which he humorously remarked would be his sleepwear. His purchases extended to vegetables, illustrating his support for the local market community.
