Bangkok: The Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has authorized the Legal Complaints Division of the Crime Suppression Division to handle the case concerning the unauthorized dissemination of documents from an investigation file related to collusion in the Senate election, which has disrupted the operational process. The Director-General has delegated authority to the Legal Complaints Division for this significant case.

According to Thai News Agency, documents containing the Special Investigation Report No. 24/2568, which pertains to conspiracy and related offenses, have been leaked via various public media channels. The special investigation centers on allegations that a group of individuals colluded to ensure the selection of certain senators was unlawful. The Department of Special Investigation has reviewed the document images circulating in the media and believes them to be pages from an investigation report. This leak damages the criminal prosecution process, especially during the pre-trial phase, where legal procedures prohibit disclosure until the case is heard in public court or under specified legal circumstances.

Such actions not only undermine public trust in the Department of Special Investigation's operations but also constitute criminal offenses under Sections 164, 322, and 323 of the Penal Code, among other related provisions. To investigate and prosecute the offenders according to the law, the Director-General has empowered a representative from the Legal Division to lodge a complaint with investigators at the Crime Suppression Division, facilitating further criminal investigation and prosecution.

The Department of Special Investigation stresses that all operations are conducted with transparency and fairness. If any officer is implicated in wrongdoing, decisive criminal and disciplinary measures will be enforced. This announcement is made in the interest of public awareness.
