Bangkok: Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, dismissed reports suggesting that the government is hastening to propose budget projects before December 9th to capitalize on the period before the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 12th. He confirmed that tax negotiations are ongoing and expressed readiness to discuss the matter with the Economic Cabinet today.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekniti addressed the circulating reports by stating that each ministry had not received any directive to submit budget proposals by the aforementioned date. He reassured that operations would continue as usual, and no such order had been given to expedite budget proposals.
Mr. Ekniti also provided updates on the tariff negotiations with the United States, confirming that these discussions are still in progress.
