Bangkok: Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, led a campaign rally at Samyan Market to bolster support for Patcharin Samsiripong, the Bhumjaithai Party's candidate for Bangkok Constituency 2. The event saw participation from key Bhumjaithai figures, including Supamas Isarabhakdi, Ekanat Promphan, and list candidates Rachada Thanadirek, Anucha Burapachaisri, and Sasithorn Kittithorakun.
According to Thai News Agency, the campaign attracted significant attention from vendors and shoppers, who expressed interest in the continuation of the "Half-Price Plus" scheme. This initiative has been a point of concern for the public, who are eager to see the implementation of Phase 2. Ekniti discussed the potential for the scheme's revival if the Bhumjaithai Party were to return to power.
A notable moment during the rally involved a female vendor displaying a sign in support of the "Half-Price Plus" project, indicating her shop's participation in the initiative and willingness to rejoin if it were expanded. Ekniti reassured her that Phase 2 of the project would proceed should the Bhumjaithai Party lead the government again.
The campaign walk at Samyan Market was marked by lively interactions. Ekniti, alongside Patcharin and the campaign team, engaged with Thai fans and foreign tourists, taking photos and selfies to further promote their cause.
