The discussions with leading companies in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19-23, 2026, aim to solidify Thailand's position on the global investment map, present policies, directions, and investment opportunities in Thailand, and build investor confidence during the government transition period.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narut Teodsathirasak, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI), revealed that from January 19-23, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapha, will lead a Thai delegation comprising Minister of Commerce, Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, along with the BOI Secretary-General and private sector executives from companies such as SCG, PTT, Charoen Pokphand Group, Thai Beverage, Bangchak, Bangkok Bank, Bitkub, and KBTG. They will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 to hold discussions with executives of leading global companies in Davos, Switzerland.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos is a global platform that influences the direction of the world economy. It brings together national leaders, international organizations, thought leaders, and CEOs of leading companies to discuss global economic trends, solutions to major global crises, and investment prospects in future industries during a period of global change accompanied by both risks and opportunities. This year's WEF annual meeting, themed "A Spirit of Dialogue," focused on promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas among world leaders.

Participating in this event is an opportunity to establish Thailand's presence on the global stage, particularly in trade and investment. Team Thailand will communicate Thailand's policies, economic direction, potential, and readiness, as well as various government measures. These include upgrading national infrastructure, developing human resources to support target industries, attracting highly skilled personnel, supporting green industries, and removing legal restrictions and investment obstacles to build investor confidence during the transition period. Furthermore, it will enhance Thailand's image among decision-makers, expand economic partnerships, lead to tangible investment opportunities, and pave the way for Thailand's hosting of the IMF and World Bank's annual meetings in October 2026.

During this year's World Economic Forum (WEF), the Deputy Prime Minister will participate in key sessions such as "New Pathways for ASEAN Growth and Productivity" and "What's Ahead for the Global Economy." In addition, he is scheduled for one-on-one discussions with economic ministers from various countries, IMF and World Bank executives, and executives from leading global companies in target industries such as biotechnology, food, electronics, digital technology, and AI, to expand cooperation and attract high-quality investment from around the world.
