Bangkok: The ballot boxes have opened, marking the commencement of the voting process, with Election Commission Chairman Mr. Narong Klanwarin taking the lead in casting his vote.
According to Thai News Agency, polling stations opened at 8:00 AM for the referendum, with Mr. Narong Klanwarin, Chairman of the Election Commission, casting his vote at a polling station in the Crystal Design Center parking lot. Citizens gradually entered polling booths to check their names before proceeding to cast their ballots.
Mr. Klanwarin visited polling station 12, constituency 14, in Khlong Chan Subdistrict, Bang Kapi District, Bangkok. Accompanied by Acting Sub-Lieutenant Sampan Saengkhamlert, Director of the Bangkok Election Commission Office, and other EC executives, he observed the voting process for the general election of Members of Parliament and the referendum.
During his visit, Mr. Klanwarin explained the procedures for voting in the general election and the referendum, and he offered encouragement to polling station officials. He emphasized the importance of performing their duties smoothly and in accordance with the law.
In addition to overseeing the process, Mr. Klanwarin exercised his right to vote in both the parliamentary election and the referendum at the same polling station. This station, located in constituency 14, had 655 eligible voters, with Mr. Klanwarin listed as number 617.
After the voting activities in Bangkok, the Chairman of the Election Commission and his team traveled to inspect and observe polling stations in the provinces of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani.
