Election Commission Chairman Urges Voter Participation at Big Day Event

Pathum thani: The Chairman of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) attended a pivotal "Big Day" event, encouraging citizens to participate in the upcoming election and referendum on February 8, 2026. The event, titled "Go Out and Vote, Join Us in Empowering Pathum Thani," aimed to promote civic engagement and was hosted at the multi-purpose dome of Pathumwilai School in Bang Parok Subdistrict, Mueang Pathum Thani District.

According to Thai News Agency, the event was presided over by Mr. Narong Klanwarin, Chairman of the Election Commission, and saw participation from the Pathum Thani Provincial Election Commission, students, and partner networks. The initiative focused on raising awareness about the significance of voting and participating in the referendum.

As part of the campaign, a procession was organized to motivate local residents to exercise their voting rights. The procession moved towards the municipal fresh market on Pathum Thani Road, reminding citizens to vote on February 8th, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, at their designated polling stations. The campaign highlighted the necessity of having proper identification documents ready to ensure a fair and lawful voting process.
