Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has clarified that reports suggesting it is preparing to fine the Pheu Thai party for not explaining its "9 Millionaires Per Day" policy are untrue.
According to Thai News Agency, the ECT addressed the misinformation circulating on social media, which claimed that the Pheu Thai Party failed to submit required documents detailing its cash handout policies. This led to rumors that the Election Commission was planning to impose a fine on the party. The ECT confirmed that no such decision has been made by either the committee responsible for reviewing political party policies related to advertising spending or by the ECT itself.
The ECT has urged media outlets and the public to verify information before dissemination to avoid misunderstandings that could undermine confidence in the election process. The Commission reassured the public that it would provide clarifications through official channels if any new facts or developments arise.
