Election Commission of Thailand Releases Training Videos for Overseas Voting

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has unveiled a comprehensive set of video materials aimed at training election officials and public relations officers, focusing on voting and vote counting outside the country. These resources are designed to assist provincial and district trainers in preparing election officials and vote counting officers for managing overseas voting processes.

According to Thai News Agency, the ECT's video materials cover several key aspects of the overseas voting process. The videos include motion graphics illustrating advance voting for Members of Parliament, scheduled for February 1, 2026, at central polling stations located outside the district. Furthermore, they provide guidance for the vote counting process set to occur on February 8, 2026. These materials serve both provincial and district trainers, offering detailed instructions for polling station committees (POCs) and polling station committees (PSCs).

The video content is structured to ensure thorough training for various election-related duties. It includes demonstrations of voting and vote counting outside the Kingdom, as well as specific responsibilities of the Election Commission and the Public Prosecutor's Office during general elections and referendums. This involves instructions on voting procedures until 5:00 PM and the subsequent verification of ballots and documents, along with vote counting methodologies after 5:00 PM.

Additional resources focus on the Election Commission's role in facilitating early voting for Members of Parliament at central polling stations before the official Election Day, as well as exercising voting rights in referendums and counting votes outside the polling district. These detailed video materials aim to ensure a smooth and efficient overseas voting process, as part of Thailand's electoral framework.
