Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has summoned a key witness to give testimony that could change the course of the case regarding the barcode and QR code issue, potentially invalidating the ECT's handling of the election.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Nattawut Wongniem, a public law expert specializing in election cases, testified before Pol. Lt. Col. Chanin Noilek, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC). Dr. Nattawut's testimony serves as a counter to the claims made by the petitioner, the Ombudsman, in the barcode/QR code case. The Constitutional Court had previously granted the EC and its Secretary-General, Mr. Saweang Boonmee, a 15-day extension for submitting their objections and witness lists. This was the first extension granted beyond the original deadline.
