Bangkok: Locals and tourists made merit and paid respects at Wat Chanasongkhram before celebrating Songkran on Khao San Road in the afternoon.

According to Thai News Agency, an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team was on site inspecting the area and scanning for suspicious objects to ensure the safety of the festivities.
