Exemption of expressway toll fees during Songkran

Bangkok 5 Apr- Exemption of tolls on the Burapha Withi and Kanchanaphisek expressways. (Bang Phli-Suksawat) for 7 days to facilitate people traveling during the Songkran Festival.

Ms. Trisulee Traisoranakul, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, said that at the Cabinet meeting (Cabinet) on April 4, 2023, she was informed of the toll exemption according to the announcement of the Ministry of Transport. for the Burapha Withi Expressway and the Kanchanapisek Expressway (Bang Phli-Suksawat) during the Songkran Festival 2023 from April 12, 2023 at 0.01 a.m. to April 18, 2023 at 24.00, a total of 7 days.

In order to solve the traffic congestion problem of the Expressway and facilitate travel for people during the Songkran Festival And this matter has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (Board of EXAT), which the Ministry of Transport has estimated that throughout the above 7 days, there will be a total volume of use of the expressways of 2,578,394 vehicles, an average of 368,342 vehicles per day, total is the income EXAT has not collected all 7 days totaling 105.22 million baht.

However, the expected benefits will receive both the cost of using the car and saving traveling time, totaling 123.98 million baht, divided into benefits received from the Burapha Withi Expressway exemption of 51.19 million baht and from the Kanchanaphisek Expressway (Bang Phli-Suksawat) 72.79 million baht.-Thai News Agency
