Experts Propose Six Strategies to Transform Social Security System

Bangkok: The final stretch for the Social Security system has arrived, as a team of seven experts unveils six policies aimed at clearing debt, ensuring business survival, and promoting employee growth. With only seven days left to register for the "Employer Representatives of the Social Security Board" election, which closes on July 15, 2026, the future management of the Social Security Fund hangs in the balance. Recently, the "Team (7 Experts) to Change Social Security" has been actively campaigning, encouraging employers and business owners nationwide to participate in shaping the future of the Social Security Fund.

According to Thai News Agency, the team, led by Dr. Thatchapol Kanjanagool, a national-level expert in finance and investment, is pushing for a "restructuring" of fund management through the integration of AI technology and a professional management vision to maximize the potential and returns from investment portfolios. The team has introduced six transformative policies aimed at improving the quality of life and providing crucial support to businesses. These measures address the dual needs of employers requiring liquidity and employees needing security.

The first policy aims to grow the fund to exceed 100 billion baht, ensuring that the 2.9 trillion baht fund is actively managed to generate at least 100 billion baht in annual returns. The second policy involves injecting 50 billion baht in liquidity, with plans to establish an SSO bank to provide funding and loans to entrepreneurs and insured persons, supported by legal amendments.

Additionally, the team plans to create a Labor Debt Relief Center to alleviate the financial burdens of workers, aiming to assist 200,000 individuals. Another innovative measure is the introduction of a "Labor Lottery," offering social security lottery tickets to raise funds for supplementary welfare, with the principal returned and opportunities to win prizes.

The fifth strategy focuses on empowering careers through the SSO platform, offering free vocational training and an ecosystem to support product sourcing, sales channels, and online income generation. Finally, the team seeks to elevate welfare benefits to international standards by expanding and improving service centers for comprehensive and accessible care for all members.

The "7 Experts" team emphasizes its dedication to "transparency, accountability, and practicality," advocating for employees' interests and ensuring their well-being. Employers are urged to seize this opportunity to register for their benefits by scanning the QR code available until July 15, 2026.
