Expressway Authority of Thailand Waives Toll Fees on Three Routes for Royal Ploughing Ceremony Day

Bangkok: The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has announced a waiver of toll fees on three major expressways in observance of the Royal Ploughing Ceremony Day on Friday, 9 May 2025. The toll waiver will be in effect from 00.01 to 24.00 hours on this annual public holiday, as declared by the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to Thai News Agency, the toll-free routes include the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway (Expressway No. 1), which has 20 toll booths, the Si Rat Expressway (Expressway No. 2) with 31 toll booths, and the Udon Ratthaya Expressway (Bang Pa-in – Pak Kret) with 10 toll booths. This initiative aligns with government and Ministry of Transport policies, as outlined in the amended concession agreement between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), and Northern Bangkok Expressway Company Limited (NECL). The aim is to facilitate public travel during the holiday, help reduce expenses, and alleviate traffic congestion at toll booths.

The public is encouraged to register and update their information via the EXAT Portal Application or www.thaieasypass.com to upgrade their Easy Pass card to Easy Pass Plus. For further assistance, the Expressway User Information Center (EXAT Call Center) can be reached at 1543, available 24 hours a day.
