Famed Comedian ‘Ah Chee Sianglo’ Passes Away at 57

Nakhon Ratchasima: The legend of ‘Ah Chee Siang Lo’ has ended. He died of sudden heart failure at the age of 57. His relatives and team could not accept it. They revealed that they were planning to return to various platforms again, but he passed away before that.

According to Thai News Agency, last night at 9:05 p.m., Wang Nam Khiao Police Station received a report of a deceased person inside the restaurant ‘Krua Achi Siang Lo’ in Ban Din Udom, Wang Nam Khiao Subdistrict, Wang Nam Khiao District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The deceased was identified as Mr. Sompong, aged 57, nicknamed ‘Achi Siang Lo’, the owner of the famous phrase ‘What a total idiot!’

Relatives stated that Ah Chee complained of chest pain, then went into shock, lost consciousness, and collapsed in the shop. Rescue workers attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful. They rushed him to Wang Nam Khiao Hospital, where he eventually passed away. The doctor concluded that he died of acute heart failure, ending the legacy of Ah Chee with a
distinctive voice.

For “Achee Sianglo”, he was a comedian known for his unique voice and catchphrase “What a bummer”. After a decline in comedy and movie work, Achee opened a restaurant in Saraburi Province, but it was not successful. He then moved to open “Achee Sianglo Kitchen” in Wang Nam Khiao with his wife for about a year before his untimely death.

Today at Wang Nam Khiao Hospital, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, the atmosphere was somber as staff and close friends of Achee gathered to perform the incense-lighting ceremony to ask for forgiveness and invite the spirit before rescue workers transported the body to Wat Ang Kaew in the Phasi Charoen District of Bangkok for religious rites.

Mr. Chatchapisit Sirichaithewin, along with the team who cared for Achi, expressed their sorrow over Achi’s sudden passing. They were unprepared for his death, especially as Achi was planning a return to various platforms. It is believed that the cause of death may have been exacerbated by lack of rest during the recent So
ngkran Festival. Achi’s only known underlying condition was high blood pressure, for which he took medication regularly. His body will undergo a water pouring ceremony this evening at Wat Ang Kaew, Phasi Charoen District.
