FDA Collaborates to Deliver Over 39,000 Medicine Sets to Songkhla Flood Victims

Bangkok: The FDA joins forces with the government and private sectors to mobilize over 39,000 sets of medicines and medical supplies to help with the Songkhla flooding. The Food and Drug Administration, in collaboration with the Thai Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, the Department of Health, and the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, mobilized over 39,000 packages of medicines and medical supplies, delivered via the HTMS Chakri Naruebet and a Royal Thai Police aircraft, to assist people affected by flooding in the southern region, particularly Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, which urgently needs public health support.

According to Thai News Agency, Pharmacist Supattra Boonserm, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), revealed that the FDA has mobilized staff to prepare 39,212 sets of medicines, medical supplies, and basic necessities, such as paracetamol, antihistamines, athlete’s foot medications, alcohol, balm, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, to be distributed to flood victims in the southern region, who are in urgent need of public health assistance. This support has been provided by 11 pharmaceutical manufacturers under the Thai Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (TPMA), including: Community Pharmacy Co., Ltd., T.O. Chemicals (1979) Co., Ltd., Siam Pharmacy Co., Ltd., Sriprasit Osot Co., Ltd., Leopard Drugstore Co., Ltd., Burapha Osot Co., Ltd., Siribancha Co., Ltd., Thai Nakhon Phatthana Co., Ltd., Thuathong Osot Co., Ltd., Polifarm Co., Ltd., and Millimed Co., Ltd., as well as agencies under the Ministry of Public Health, including the Department of Health and the Government Pharmaceutical Or
ganization (GPO).
