Chatchai Sakdee, Superintendent of the Mueang Yala Police Station, received a report from officers of the Special Operations Unit (SO Unit) of Yala Province. The unit was operating jointly with security forces from three agencies, enforcing the law at an unknown address on Soi Ratsadorn Phatthana DD.2, Moo 3, Ban Po Yani, Sateng Nok Subdistrict, Mueang Yala District, Yala Province.

Later, at approximately 3:50 AM, during the operation, the suspect used an unknown type of rifle to fire at the officers. This action prompted the officers to return fire in self-defense and to maintain security in the area.

Initial investigations have revealed no reports of injuries to officers. However, the operation in the area is not yet complete.
