Nan: The flood situation in Nan city is stabilizing and gradually receding in many communities and areas, as the water level in the Nan River continues to recede. However, the Ban Phumin-Tha Li community, a low-lying area along the Nan River, still has high water levels.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ban Phumin-Tha Li community, located in a lowland area along the Nan River, is particularly hard hit when floods occur. Because its elevation is lower than other communities in Nan city, the water level rises higher and remains stagnant in the community for longer periods. Residents only recede after the Nan River recedes and the municipality pumps the water out of the city.

Our news team surveyed the Ban Phumin-Tha Li community, where floodwaters continue to inundate the community, reaching over 1 meter in depth, and in some areas as high as 1.5 meters. Hundreds of households in this community are living like people stranded on an island, without running water or electricity, relying on rescue workers and military personnel to bring them food, drinking water, and essential supplies.

In Nan city, throughout the day, rescue workers from various agencies have mobilized boats and personnel to provide full assistance to the people of Nan. For example, volunteers from the Friends Helping Friends Foundation (Pha Yiam Yak) under the Thai Red Cross Society are urgently delivering ready-to-eat meals and essential supplies to flood victims. They are working in the Huai Wiang Tai community, Nai Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang Nan District, where floodwaters are still over 1 meter deep, and in some areas over 1.5 meters high. The volunteers had to climb onto rooftops, scale walls, and wade through chest-deep water to distribute food and supplies to the affected residents. The living conditions for those affected are extremely difficult.

The water level in the Nan River flowing through Nan city has now dropped below the flood barriers. It is expected that the flooding situation in Nan city will gradually subside, and the city will soon enter a recovery phase.
