Sa Kaeo:The government is advancing with the construction of a four-lane road in Sa Kaeo province, which is intended to serve as a "gateway to Indochina." The project is expected to be completed by 2027.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Department of Rural Roads, Ministry of Transport, is expediting road infrastructure development across the nation to ease travel burdens and enhance safety. The project in Sa Kaeo City involves Road A in the Sa Kaeo City Master Plan, which is over 70% complete. Current efforts focus on the road surface, sidewalks, lighting, and bridge construction. The total project budget is 914.5 million baht.

The road will span 12.795 kilometers and feature four lanes, each 3.25 meters wide, with a 2.40-meter wide shoulder. A raised median of 4.20 meters will separate traffic. The road layout includes sections outside the community area with a 40-meter right-of-way and a community area section with a right-of-way width of 30 to 40 meters. Sidewalks will be 4 meters wide on each side, complemented by a drainage system. Two reinforced concrete bridges with four lanes each will be constructed across canals, with an additional pedestrian overpass in front of Darasamut School.

The construction project aims to support urban growth, enhance economic and trade connectivity in the upper eastern region, and promote tourism in the province. It aligns with the Sa Kaeo Provincial Development Plan, which focuses on improving traffic flow in the city center, ensuring convenience and safety, and enhancing the province's role as a "Gateway to Indochina," in accordance with government policy and that of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn.
