According to Thai News Agency, OR and Bangchak have announced a 50 satang per liter reduction in fuel prices, effective tomorrow (December 24). The Fuel Fund Office announced that today, the Fuel Fund Management Committee (FFMC) revealed that its meeting approved a reduction in the fuel fund levy for diesel by 20 satang per liter. They also requested cooperation from fuel retailers to reduce the retail price of diesel and gasoline at gas stations by 50 satang per liter, effective tomorrow. This will result in the retail price of diesel being 30.44 baht per liter, down from the previous 30.94 baht per liter.
Currently, the financial position of the Oil Fund is showing a continuous improvement due to factors such as lower global oil prices and efficient management of the
Fuel Oil Fund, which has resulted in the ability to reduce retail prices of fuel. This reflects the Ministry of Energy’s commitment to alleviating the burden of living costs for the public while maintaining energy price stability in the country.
As of December 21, the Oil Fund was in deficit at 8,455 million baht, divided into a positive balance of 31,291 million baht in the oil account and a negative balance of 39,746 million baht in the LPG account. The reduction in the contribution rate to the Oil Fund for diesel fuel will decrease diesel revenue to approximately 145.45 million baht per day from the previous 159.21 million baht per day. Meanwhile, gasoline revenue remains unchanged at approximately 90.86 million baht per day.
