Ban phue: The owner of a gas station in Ban Phue, affected by a Cambodian bomb blast, is in distress after a year without compensation. The station, hit by a BM-21 bomb during the Thai-Cambodian clashes, has left its owner, Mrs. Kamonrat, appealing for help after using her children's tuition money to pay off debts.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Kamonrat reached out to Mr. Wasawath Puangphornsri, a Member of Parliament and leader of the Thai Ruam Palang Party. She presented a letter detailing her plight and the lack of compensation following the damage caused by the rocket attack on July 24, 2025. Mr. Wasawath acknowledged the issue, citing a similar case involving a fatality during the clashes, and promised to pursue action with relevant authorities, including Mr. Phatthapong Leelaphat, Chairman of the House Committee on Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

Mrs. Kamonrat expressed frustration over the stagnant progress of her compensation claim, noting that the Prime Minister's Office had been informed but no official response had been received. She highlighted that tenants at the gas station, closed for three months, and 7-Eleven customers injured by shrapnel, have only received limited compensation. Employees of the 7-Eleven, also injured, remain uncompensated.

Emotional and visibly upset, Mrs. Kamonrat described the financial strain of the past year. She called for government intervention, emphasizing the need for support to sustain her business and family. Despite some aid from the private sector and assurances from former Deputy Minister of Interior Ms. Theerarat Samrejvanich, she has not received any governmental compensation. The initial response from government officials was limited to oversight, with instructions to liaise with the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, leaving Mrs. Kamonrat and others affected waiting for resolution.
