Bangkok: “Uncle Pom,” formally known as General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, has expressed his concern for the people affected by the ongoing conflict on the Thai-Cambodian border. He has directed “Trinuch” and the Palang Pracharath Party to urgently coordinate with government agencies to ensure comprehensive assistance is provided to the villagers.

According to Thai News Agency, on December 8, 2015, General Prawit addressed the escalating situation along the border, which has resulted in one Thai soldier’s death and injuries to two others. His party is actively working to coordinate with relevant agencies to support those impacted by the clash between military factions. The tense situation has raised concerns for the safety and well-being of residents in several areas.

In response to these events, General Prawit has tasked Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, the Minister of Labor, with overseeing the coordination of all government efforts to deliver swift aid and assistance to those displaced by the conflict. The goal is to ensure that comprehensive support reaches those in need as quickly as possible.

Residents in crisis can reach out to the Palang Pracharath Party, which will ensure their needs and information are relayed to the appropriate agencies for immediate action.

The Ministry of Labor has announced the formation of a committee, led by the Ministry’s Inspector General, to monitor the situation at the border. This committee has been in place since earlier clashes and is prepared to coordinate ongoing assistance to those affected by the current conflict.
