General Prawit Wongsuwan Resigns as Leader of Palang Pracharath Party

Bangkok: "Big Pom" (General Prawit Wongsuwan) has stepped down as leader of the Palang Pracharath Party. The party has appointed "Treenuch" as the new leader, ensuring a seamless transition of leadership.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, announced that General Prawit Wongsuwan resigned from his position on January 5, 2026. Following this decision, the party's executive committee resolved to appoint Ms. Treenuch Thianthong as the new leader.

Mr. Paiboon stated that General Prawit will continue to play a significant role in the party as its chief advisor, where he will offer his guidance and support. He clarified that General Prawit's resignation was driven solely by health concerns and was unrelated to any political issues.

Paiboon assured that the Palang Pracharath Party remains committed to its political endeavors and that the leadership change will not impact the party's preparations for the upcoming election.
