Bangkok: The Government Lottery Office (GLO) is set to enhance its oversight of 863 legal entity representatives involved in the distribution of lottery tickets, targeting compliance with allocation terms. Those entities found in violation will face a 5% reduction in tickets without awaiting contract expiration.

According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Col. Noon Sansanakom, Director of the GLO, disclosed that recent board meeting approvals have paved the way for stringent guidelines to be applied to agents distributing six-digit government lottery tickets (Lottery 6: L6). The inspections will scrutinize management practices to ensure alignment with GLO’s objectives.

The GLO is preparing to conduct comprehensive field inspections of all 863 juridical persons, associations, organizations, and foundations involved in Lottery 6: L6 ticket distribution. The inspections will focus on adherence to regulations, conditions, and various announcements, documenting evidence such as distribution patterns, member sales, GPS data, and environmental conditions to inform potential punitive measures.

Entities found violating criteria, conditions, or orders will be subject to enforced control measures. For a first-time violation, a written warning will be issued. Repeat offenses will result in a 5% reduction of lottery tickets allocated, applied immediately upon detection without waiting for contract termination. The same reduction applies if violations persist, affecting the quantity received by members of the offending entity.

Lt. Col. Nun highlighted the prioritization of intensifying field inspections starting with the December 16, 2025, draw, continuing through July 16, 2026, covering a total of 15 draws. This initiative aims to ensure compliance across all sales points for 80 baht lottery tickets and other associated agents.

The GLO is in the process of issuing detailed notifications to all six-digit government lottery ticket distributors, outlining the new procedures and punitive measures. Tickets reduced through these measures will be redirected to the advance purchase and reservation system for Lottery 6: L6.
