Golf F.HERO Explains Sound Mishap at 2025 SEA Games Opening Ceremony

Bangkok: Golf F.HERO has expressed his heartfelt sympathy for fellow artists Violette Wautier and Tong Twopee following a sound issue during the live broadcast of the 2025 SEA Games opening ceremony. The incident, which has sparked widespread discussion, occurred during the performance of the song “1%” on the main stage, leading to off-key and out-of-rhythm vocals.

According to Thai News Agency, the mishap was due to a mix-up in coordination. Golf F.HERO, who was instrumental in bringing Violette and Tong to the performance, explained that they were initially instructed to lip-sync entirely. However, on the day of the event, the artists’ microphones were unexpectedly activated, and their ear monitors were muted, leading to the vocal discrepancies. Golf emphasized that the sound error disrupted Violette’s rhythm and caused a delay in Tong Twopee’s vocals, affecting their professional image despite their best efforts.

Golf F.HERO took to Facebook to clarify the situation, stating that the live stream mistakenly aired the microphone audio during the performance. During rehearsals, the team was informed that the show would be entirely lip-synced due to certain limitations. As a result, the artists could not hear their own voices through the in-ear monitors, which were muted. This miscommunication led to the out-of-sync vocals heard on the live broadcast, although the audience in the stadium experienced the performance as planned.

He further expressed his inability to pinpoint the exact cause of the error, attributing it to a lack of communication with the outside broadcast team. Golf conveyed his deep regret over the impact on Violette and Tong’s professional image and urged the public not to blame them for the incident. He apologized to both the artists and the audience for any disappointment caused, emphasizing that everyone involved did their utmost to deliver a successful performance.
