Government Acknowledges People’s Concerns, Emphasizes Collaborative Solutions

Bangkok: The government spokesperson expressed gratitude towards the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) for their role in voicing public concerns and reassured that all opinions are being actively considered. Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, received a petition at Government House from the Network of Students and People for Thailand Reform (NSPR), the Labor Network, and the Farmers Network.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada thanked these groups for representing the public's concerns and emphasized the government's commitment to addressing issues raised through various channels. She assured that all matters submitted would be reported once considered and finalized. The government aims to address key issues, including the implementation direction of MOU44, measures to alleviate public and worker hardships, and the development of an Entertainment Complex to boost revenue and tourism, explicitly excluding casinos. Security concerns are also being evaluated with relevant agencies and stakeholders.

The spokesperson highlighted the government's understanding of various sector concerns and readiness to resolve problems and reduce public suffering. In cases where immediate solutions are not possible, clear explanations will be provided. The government remains committed to collaborating with civil society networks, essential in reflecting public voices.

The PAD presented five policy proposals, urging the government to prioritize energy system restructuring for national security, cancel agreements MOU43 and MOU44 with Cambodia, reform wage structures to ensure livable wages, improve state-owned enterprises' efficiency without privatization, and reform the justice system for equality and justice for all citizens.
