Government Directs Evacuation of Patients from Border Areas Amid Safety Concerns

Bangkok: The government has initiated measures to evacuate patients from border areas, with Trat Hospital announcing plans to move 22 patients as part of the efforts. Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the government is prioritizing the safe and efficient transportation of patients in potentially hazardous zones.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Public Health has been instructed to deploy 52 SRRT-SehRT emergency response teams to manage sanitation and disease control. The plan includes preparing buses and ambulances, coordinating with the Royal Thai Navy for maritime patient transport, and establishing primary and alternative routes for patient evacuation should primary routes become unusable or unsafe. Additionally, locations for field hospitals are being secured to accommodate an influx of patients if necessary.

The announcement on Trat Hospital’s official Facebook page confirmed the evacuation plans for 22 patients, urging the public to allow ambulances, emergency vehicles, and rescue vehicles unobstructed access to facilitate patient transport. The government stresses the importance of rapid and safe evacuation processes in case of escalating situations.
