Government Lottery Office Sees Strong Sales in Digital Lottery Tickets

Bangkok: The Government Lottery Office is pleased with the strong sales of digital lottery tickets. The increased proportion of digital lottery tickets sold well during the New Year festival, and efforts continue to address the issue of lottery tickets being sold at inflated prices.

According to Thai News Agency, the Government Lottery Office (GLO) has been actively balancing paper and digital lottery ticket sales, including the sale of three-digit lottery tickets (N3). From the current 110 million tickets of all types per draw, the GLO plans to reduce six-digit paper tickets (L6) by increasing the proportion of digital tickets and increasing the number of N3 tickets. The primary focus remains on supporting existing distributors.

Currently, lottery draws include both paper and digital tickets. There are 78 million paper tickets per draw. Of these, 15 million are allocated to representatives of various associations, such as those for the disabled and sports associations, as well as quotas for various organizations. An additional 15 million are quota tickets for individual retailers, and 48 million are tickets reserved by individual retailers. Meanwhile, there are 27 million digital tickets. With the increase in digital tickets to 28 million to support sales through the Paotang app, interest in lottery tickets has significantly increased during the New Year season. The Government Lottery Office is striving to increase the proportion of digital tickets to an appropriate level to accommodate the online society.
