Government Savings Bank Awards Prizes to Thai Medalists from 2026 Asian Games

Jakarta:Mr. Songpol Cheevapanyaroj, Director of the Government Savings Bank, awarded prizes to Thai athletes and coaches who excelled at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The awards were presented in collaboration with the Jujitsu Association of Thailand and the Windsurfing Association of Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, The Thai national jujitsu team achieved notable success, securing a total of three medals one gold and two bronze. Orapa Senatham claimed the gold medal in the women's under 63 kg weight class, earning a Government Savings Bank lottery ticket valued at 200,000 baht. Bronze medals were awarded to Chanat Singchalat in the women's 52 kg weight class and Miyu Suzuki in the women's 48 kg weight class, with each receiving a lottery ticket worth 100,000 baht.

In windsurfing, Thai athletes won two bronze medals. William McMillan, a Thai-Australian competitor, earned a bronze in the iQFOiL Open Men's category, while 16-year-old Chanatkarn Charoensuk, known as Cake, achieved a bronze in the iQFOiL Under 19 Women's category. Both athletes were rewarded with Government Savings Bank lottery tickets valued at 100,000 baht each.

Mr. Songpol expressed gratitude to the athletes for their contributions to national pride, offering encouragement to all athletes to persist in their efforts. He emphasized the bank's commitment to supporting sports and promoting well-being, recognizing the potential for these achievements to inspire more Thai youth to pursue similar paths. The bank's award of special one-year savings bonds was designed to resonate with younger generations, providing both financial rewards and opportunities for additional prizes.

Miyu Suzuki shared her appreciation for the bank's support, noting her unfamiliarity with the lottery before this experience. She expressed plans to save her prize money for training purposes and reflected on her ongoing excitement following the Games. Miyu aims to enhance her strength and stamina, with hopes of ultimately winning a gold medal in future competitions.
