Chachoengsao: Government spokesman Siripong, represented the government in receiving the complaint letter, confirming the government’s commitment to clean energy and proposing the matter for the Prime Minister to investigate the facts to ensure fairness.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat received a complaint from a group of citizens in Chachoengsao Province, which is campaigning for a just energy transition, regarding the issuance of operating licenses for a power plant project in Chachoengsao Province.
Mr. Siripong stated that the government, led by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, has a policy to promote and encourage clean energy. Upon hearing the demands, he found that the project’s implementation does not align with government policy. He stated that he will present the petition to the Prime Minister to ascertain the reasons why the factory operating license was issued to the project on October 15, 2025.
“We will expedite the investigation and take swift action to ensure the peace of mind of the protesters, who understand that their actions are motivated by their determination to protect their communities and livelihoods. On behalf of the government, I reaffirm that we will do our utmost to ensure fairness and the greatest benefit to all parties,” said Mr. Siripong.
The Government Spokesperson also questioned the public about registration for the Half-Half Plus program. A representative responded that registration was too late, with the spokesperson advising them to wait for Phase 2. The public also expressed their concerns, hoping the funds would reach the grassroots economy. The government spokesperson confirmed that the Half-Half Plus program focuses on sales through small businesses to stimulate the grassroots economy and generate domestic circulation. The government will use these observations to maximize policy effectiveness.
