Government Spokespersons and Media Collaborate to Enhance Communication

Bangkok: Government spokespersons are joining forces with the media to enhance communication, emphasizing complete information and minimizing inaccuracies. They stressed that the spokesperson team works as a unified unit, despite members of different parties, aiming to communicate accurate information to the public.

According to Thai News Agency, the team of spokespersons for the Prime Minister, led by Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister, along with Ms. Lalida Peritwiwatana, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokespersons for the Prime Minister, and Capt. Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, together with the Spokesperson's Office of the Prime Minister's Secretariat, held a meeting with media representatives at Government House as part of a media relations activity to exchange ideas and build understanding in working together.

Inquiries were made regarding the guidelines for monitoring the Prime Minister's work, including interviews and the dissemination of information. The Prime Minister's spokesperson clarified that news reporting must be accurate and official, especially on important issues. If the media requires in-depth details or special issues, they can contact the spokesperson team, which intends to prepare complete information and clarifications within a reasonable timeframe to ensure that the disseminated content is relevant and accurate.

Regarding the press briefings on the Cabinet meetings, the Spokesperson's Office has a policy of conducting press conferences quickly. However, the media is asked to understand that because each Cabinet meeting involves numerous and detailed decisions, careful compilation and verification of information are necessary. Often, the content is complex, especially concerning budgets. To ensure accurate and clear information and to avoid confusion among the public and the media, time is needed to prepare the documents.

The spokesperson team affirmed their commitment to working as a unified team, despite being from different political parties, sharing a clear common goal: communicating accurate, complete, and useful information to the public. They have clearly defined roles and responsibilities and closely monitor, review, and evaluate key issues to ensure effective and timely government communication. The spokesperson team operates on behalf of the government, regardless of political affiliation, aiming to establish standards and strengthen the government communication system, laying the foundation for systematic work and ensuring its continued effectiveness in the future.

In addition, the spokesperson team also communicates through the radio program "Voices from the Heart of Thailand," where the Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister will broadcast important information from the government in two segments daily, at 7:00 AM and after 7:00 PM, each lasting approximately one minute, to convey key information concisely and effectively to the public. Meanwhile, every Saturday at 8:30 AM, the Spokesperson for the Prime Minister will summarize and elaborate on important government issues to provide the public with clear and easily understandable information, enabling them to closely follow the government's direction.

Furthermore, the "Media Relations" event was organized to foster a friendly atmosphere among media representatives stationed at Government House. Food and drinks were provided for the media, creating a sense of camaraderie among attendees. During the event, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul descended from the Thai Khu Fah building to participate in the activities, greeting the spokespersons and reporters closely before returning to the building.
