Government’s B20 Fuel Campaign Faces Criticism Amid High Oil Prices

Bangkok: The ongoing high oil price crisis has prompted the government to promote alternative energy sources, including the introduction of B20 diesel fuel. Despite these efforts, concerns have been raised regarding the efficacy of B20 as a viable solution to the current fuel price challenges.

According to Thai News Agency, large bus operators, van drivers, and the president of the Petroleum Workers' Federation have expressed their apprehensions about the use of B20 diesel. They argue that the fuel is not yet adequate, highlighting issues such as black smoke emissions and engine sluggishness during inspections. These concerns indicate that the transition to B20 fuel might need further refinement to address the practical challenges faced by the transport sector.
