Bangkok: An assailant fatally shot a volunteer defense officer at the Ban Ton Makham intersection in Yarang district, Pattani province, after he was returning home on his motorcycle from dropping his child off at school. Auxiliary Police Officer Abdulloh Yama was ambushed and killed at the Ban Ton Makham intersection, Moo 4, Mae Mawai Subdistrict, Yarang District, Pattani Province.

According to Thai News Agency, Yarang Police found the victim's overturned motorcycle and three spent 9mm bullet casings at the scene, indicating a targeted attack. The investigation revealed that while Auxiliary Police Officer Abdullah, a member of the Khao Tum Subdistrict Protection Unit, was returning home on his motorcycle after dropping his child off at school in the area, he slowed down to turn left. It was at this moment that the assailants, lying in ambush, opened fire on him before fleeing on a motorcycle.

The incident has raised concerns about security in the region, prompting authorities to intensify their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of local residents.
