Hairdresser and Wives Arrested for Murder of 26-Year-Old Man

Pak kret: Police have detained and remanded the owner of a barbershop and his two wives on charges of luring a 26-year-old man to a location where he was fatally beaten. Meanwhile, the father of a witness has revealed crucial evidence: his daughter saw the victim being attacked by all three until he died.

According to Thai News Agency, Pak Kret police have taken Mr. Jirawat, 59, the owner of the barbershop, along with Ms. Natthayan, 43, and Ms. Pornpimol, 34, a Laotian woman, to Nonthaburi Provincial Court for remand. The three suspects, who are a married couple, are accused of luring Mr. Thiti, or "Tee," 26, to his death by bludgeoning him to death in the barbershop. They will face charges of "premeditated murder" after an intense overnight interrogation.

All three suspects appeared tense and refused to answer questions from the media. Only Mr. Jirawat briefly stated that he claimed the deceased attempted to murder him and that he would testify in court. Meanwhile, Ms. Natthayan and her other wife tried to cover their faces with their hands to avoid giving any interviews.

This afternoon, the family of the deceased invited monks from Wat Bang Phang to the accident site to perform a ceremony to invite the spirit of Mr. Thiti, or "Nong Tee," back home. Offerings were prepared, and the deceased's shirt and pants were placed as part of the ceremony. The atmosphere was somber, with many relatives and close friends attending. His mother and grandmother lit 16 incense sticks to call their son's spirit back home.

Later, the family moved Mr. Thiti's body to Sala 1, Wat Bang Phang, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, for religious ceremonies. Many relatives and friends were there to receive him before the bathing of the body ceremony and the first night of funeral prayers, amidst the grief of the family and those who came to pay their respects.

The mother of the deceased revealed that she had seen the video footage of the incident, which showed her son crying for help. She felt there may have been more than one person at the scene. Regarding the perpetrator's claim that her son carried a knife to threaten them, she insisted that her son was not a drug user and that even if there was a loan, it wouldn't be a reason to resort to violence leading to death. She believes this was not the main cause of the incident and pleaded for the law to be pursued to the fullest extent to ensure justice for her son.

A reporter received an interview with the father of the 15-year-old girl, a witness to the incident and the person who filmed the crucial evidence of the assault on the victim, who was pleading for her life. The father stated that after his daughter gave her statement to the police, she recounted the events as occurring around 4:30 PM. The victim drove up and parked in front of the shop before walking into the middle of the shop. Then, the perpetrator grabbed her by the neck and dragged her to the back of the shop before a fight broke out. Later, a woman approached from behind the victim and assaulted her until she fell. The situation then escalated, as captured in the audio clip. The victim continuously cried for help until she was exhausted.

The daughter recounted that after the victim lay motionless, the three perpetrators continued to assault him, voicing threats to kill him. They repeatedly struck him with an X-shaped piece of scaffolding metal equipment. The 15-year-old daughter was so frightened that she retreated to sit on a sofa in front of the shop, but she still witnessed the entire incident.

After the incident, a woman approached my daughter and told her not to give a statement to anyone, and not to answer any questions from reporters or police officers. I view this as intimidation. She also tried to fabricate a story that the deceased had come to borrow money and was refused, leading to the assault in self-defense. Regarding the claim that the deceased was holding a knife, Mr. Sathaporn confirms, based on his daughter's account, that the last thing he saw was the deceased lying on their back, not holding a knife, and not carrying any weapons since entering the shop.
